How much eSIM data do you need?

Choose a plan that covers both your travel days and expected data use, then compare its total price. The lowest price per GB is not always the lowest-cost option for your trip.

A practical travel data estimate

Our finder uses three planning assumptions: 0.25 GB per day for light use, 0.75 GB for everyday use and 2 GB for heavy use. These are budgeting scenarios, not measured averages or guarantees. Video calls, streaming and hotspot use can exceed them. Check your phone’s actual mobile data history before choosing a profile.

7 days1.8 GB5.3 GB14 GB
14 days3.5 GB10.5 GB28 GB
30 days7.5 GB22.5 GB60 GB

For a seven-day trip, the everyday estimate is 5.3 GB. A 5 GB package falls below that estimate, even if its validity lasts 30 days. A package with enough data but only three days of validity also fails the seven-day requirement.

How we rank eligible packages

  1. Match the selected destination.
  2. Require validity at least as long as your trip and enough fixed data to cover the rounded estimate.
  3. Exclude unlimited packages and catalog entries flagged with inconsistencies from automatic recommendations.
  4. Sort eligible packages by total USD price, then smaller data allowance, shorter validity and stable package ID for ties.
  5. Show up to three distinct allowance/validity combinations. If none qualifies, show no recommendation instead of suggesting an undersized package.

Commission does not influence this ordering. Our current catalog contains Nomad offers; this is not a comparison of every provider in the market. We do not independently test network speeds or claim a lowest-price guarantee.

Total price or price per GB?

Illustrative example, not a live offer: 5 GB for $10 costs $2 per GB; 10 GB for $15 costs $1.50 per GB. If 5 GB covers your needs, buying the larger plan costs $5 more despite the better unit price. If you need 7 GB, the smaller plan is insufficient.

Our catalog uses 1 GB = 1,000 MB for comparisons. Unlimited plans have no finite price-per-GB figure; check their high-speed limits and fair-use conditions.

What you must verify before payment

Catalog prices are a dated snapshot, not a live quote. Offers lead to the provider’s destination page, where you select the final package. The provider supplies the eSIM and handles activation support and refunds.

Check compatibility using official guidance
